| 1566 - 1592 | Hugh Harris During Elizabethan times the Harris family from Haverfordwest settled here. Hugh Harris died in 1566 and was followed by his son Thomas Harris who owned the residence and manor of Hilton and died some time after in 1592. | |
| 1592 - 1661 | Thomas Butler Hilton was passed to the Butler family of Scovaston before 1624 in which year the manor of Hilton (600 acres) was owned by Thomas Butler, brother in law of Thomas Harris. It was later inherited by the heiress Anne Butler. She married William Mordant and enjoyed the estates. They were living at Hilton in 1661 and later moved to the main Butler residence, Scovaston. Their sole surviving son Thomas Mordaunt was still living in 1723. | |

| 1786 - 1792 | Francis Edwards The owner - occupier was Francis Edwards of Haverfordwest. In 1792 he married Martha Williams of Haverfordwest, and among the properties settled on her was the messuage and land called Hilton. Edwards died without issue about 1808, and Hilton became the property of Mrs Jane Bassett of Neath, and by her will dated 1828, the year of her death, she bequeathed Hilton to Samuel Harris of Cryglas and Trevaccoon. | |
